What started as an on-the-job training in Orthopaedic Nursing in 1962 later evolved into a full-fledged Orthopaedic Nursing school in March 1965 with ten (10) staff Nurses drawn from different part of Northern Nigeria. This School is therefore the first and oldest Orthopaedic Nursing School in Nigeria. From inception, the programme has been a twelve calendar month training Programme.

STAFF POSITION
The staff strength during the period of report was eight (8) two of which are non-academic staff.
STUDENT POPULATION.
The student population at the beginning of the year was 28. Those students completed the course in October, 2004.
